Medulin Islands
Just off the coast near Medulin, there’s a cluster of small islands you can visit by boat. It’s an easy, fun day out — taxi boats run regularly from Medulin harbour.
The Islands
Levan — my favourite. Sandy beach, beach bar, clear water, nobody in a hurry. You can kayak out from Medulin too.
Ceja — a bit bigger, has a restaurant. Good for a long lunch and a swim.
Bodulaš — quieter, great for snorkelling. Simple food available.
How It Works
Go to Medulin harbour — about five minutes from the house — find the taxi boats, and pick an island. The boats run back and forth all day, so just catch one back when you’re ready.
Bring cash — you pay the skipper at the boat.
What else to bring: Towel, sunscreen, snorkel gear, and enough for lunch.
Tips
Go early in summer. By midday the beaches fill up.
Bring water shoes. Some beaches are rocky.
Stay for lunch. The restaurants are simple but the fish is fresh and the setting is perfect — tables by the water, boats bobbing nearby.
It feels like a bigger adventure than it is. You’re on an island, surrounded by clear blue water, eating grilled fish — and you’re barely twenty minutes from the house.
